Organic Beekeeping Classes

We became beekeepers because of our love of honey. Since we consume a lot of honey, we want to produce a product as pure as possible. Traditional beekeeping relies on synthetic chemicals to treat varroa, nosema, American Foulbrood and safeguard comb against wax moth. All these miticides and antibiotics leave behind residues in the wax linked to increased queen turnover and poor colony health. Beeswax acts as a sponge, soaking up many different chemicals. Using techniques gleaned from our travels around the world, we've developed an organic approach to beekeeping. While we can't control where the bees fly and forage, we can control what we put into the hive.

Learn to manage your bees organically with our beekeeping classes:

  • Organic Spring Management on April 8th, 2018
  • Organic Varroa & Small Hive Beetle Control on May 20th, 2018
  • Organic Winter Preparation on August 12th, 2018
